Description
O4 Wide Air Unit
A compact digital FPV video system for micro quads, cinewhoops and freestyle builds. Its wide-angle camera pairs an immersive view with onboard recording, while the separate transmission board allows flexible installation in a compatible frame. This is the Wide version, not the O4 Air Unit Pro.
Camera & Recording
| Sensor | 1/2-inch CMOS |
|---|---|
| Maximum field of view | 159° (4:3 recording, Wide view, electronic stabilization off) |
| 4K recording | 3840 x 2160 (16:9) or 3840 x 2880 (4:3); 30/50/60 fps |
| 1080p recording | 1920 x 1080 (16:9) or 1440 x 1080 (4:3); 30/50/60/100/120 fps |
| Recording format / bitrate | MP4; up to 100 Mbps |
| Color mode | Normal |
| Storage | 23GB internal; no microSD expansion |
| Stabilization | RockSteady 3.0+; Gyroflow post-processing with onboard stabilization off and a matching Wide lens profile |
The widest view requires the settings shown above. Stabilization crops the image; vibration damping and the correct lens profile are important for smooth footage.
Video Transmission
| Video link | O4 digital FPV; single antenna (1T1R) |
|---|---|
| Live view | 1080p at 30/50/60/100 fps |
| Lowest latency | 20 ms with Goggles 3; 24 ms with Goggles N3 (Racing mode, 1080p/100fps) |
| Maximum link range | 10 km FCC; 6 km CE/SRRC, with Goggles 3 or Goggles N3 |
| Frequency bands | 5.170-5.250 GHz / 5.725-5.850 GHz, subject to region |
| Channel selection | Automatic or manual; up to 60 MHz bandwidth with compatible goggles |
| Flight data overlay | Canvas Mode / Betaflight OSD |
Range and latency figures are controlled-test limits, not guaranteed flight performance. Obstructions, interference, antenna placement, firmware and local radio limits affect results. Racing mode fixes recording and live view at 1080p/100fps, so it does not record 4K simultaneously.
Power & Installation Dimensions
| Input voltage | 3.7-13.2 V DC |
|---|---|
| BEC supply | At least 10 W output; for example, 5 V / 2 A |
| Transmission module size | 30 x 30 x 6 mm |
| Mounting hole spacing | 25.5 x 25.5 mm |
| Camera mounting width | 14 mm stock housing; check frame clearance before installation |
| Standard cable / antenna lengths | 50 mm camera coaxial cable; 50 mm wiring harness; 80 mm antenna |
| Operating temperature | -10 to 40 °C |
Do not connect a 4S or 6S battery directly. Use a suitable regulated supply within 3.7-13.2 V. A 1S setup must keep voltage at the module above 3.7 V under load. Confirm connector pinout and polarity before applying power.
Goggles & Control Compatibility
- Supported goggles: Goggles 3, Goggles N3, Goggles 2 and Goggles Integra, with compatible firmware.
- Integrated control: FPV Remote Controller 3 with Goggles 3/N3; FPV Remote Controller 2 with Goggles 2/Integra. Configure the flight controller for SBUS.
- Other radio-control systems require their own compatible receiver. This video system does not replace an ELRS receiver.
- Flight controller support: Betaflight 4.3.0 or later. Configure Canvas Mode/MSP display output for flight data.
- Analog-only FPV goggles cannot receive this digital video link.
Setup & Care
- Complete device activation, firmware updates and goggles linking before first use. Activation requires external power as well as the computer connection.
- Provide airflow around the board, use a fan during bench setup and keep low-power standby enabled when ground recording is unnecessary.
- Secure the antenna away from shielding and protect the camera cable from sharp bends or tension. Fit appropriate vibration damping and check screw length.
- Remove propellers before wiring or bench testing. After assembly, verify image, OSD, radio control and failsafe before flight.
